Cynos Inside Hair Care

Every time I hear Morocco Argan oil, I always think of it as something I’d like to apply to my hair and skin. Argan oil can help restore dry and damaged hair. For the skin, it can also serve as a regular body moisturizer.

Argan oil comes from a rare Moroccan tree which is found only in Morocco. It is also know as one of the best beauty ingredient as it can be used on the hair, scalp, body, face and hands. Every drop of this “liquid gold” as what some would call it brings an overall moisturizing effect, softening as well as protecting our skin and hair from sun damage.

So when I found out that Cynos has come up with a shampoo and conditioner duo, I couldn’t let it pass. I had to try it myself and make a review. I’ve always loved Argan oil products that I can use for my hair to keep them looking healthy and shiny.

For someone who colors their hair often, It’s a little hard for us to find the right shampoo and conditioner that can keep our hair healthy without stripping off the color.

Here’s a shampoo and conditioner duo that keeps your hair color looking vibrant and shiny. Unlike other shampoos, this one doesn’t strip off color, instead it helps the hair keep its healthy appearance and looking shiny as well.

This one is my favorite!

I’ve been using Argan oil for quite sometime now. I never forget to apply Argan oil onto the tips of my hair every time I get out of the shower. I apply it before I blow dry my hair to keep me from having dry ends. It also keeps my hair soft and moisturized especially during hot weather wherein your hair is more vulnerable to sun damage. Just like our skin, our hair needs its own sunblock as well.

What’s New on Urban Decay? (Must have!)

Okay so I know that we’ve all been obsessing over getting naked this past few years and a lot of us girls have been raving non-stop about this product. So here’s a recap on why we love to get naked. Haha!

image

I am so in love with this palette I bring it with me wherever I go especially when I travel. The packaging is so slim I can just slip it right inside my makeup bag and it has all the colors I need from neutrals to dark shades. This is like the ultimate must-have eyeshadow palette for every girl out there.

If you’ve read some of my makeup tutorials you’ll notice that this is what I am always using or sometimes I like to combine it with other eyeshadow brands.

image

Hmm.. The Naked 2 palette. Never actually got this one and I don’t know why I didn’t, by the way. So I can’t really talk much about this one. Haha! I think I should get one asap just so I won’t get left behind on this naked craze. Lol

By the way, for those who have this, do let me know what you think about this one and if I should get it or should I just wait for the Naked 3 palette. Hehe! Comment below or email me. I’d love to know what you think. =)

image

And finally…Yaaaay! The Urban Decay Naked palette now on its third installment! I am super super excited about this. And I love the new design of the packaging too. Looks classy!

image

I’ve noticed that majority of the colors are in pink tones and neutrals and it’s exactly what got me into this new naked palette. Unlike the first 2 palettes, which has more darker shades and browns. I think this one has a lot of lighter (girly) colors like the pink and rosy tones with a little shimmer. Ugh, I am so bad at describing colors so nevermind. Don’t let me ruin the moment. Haha!

Anyway, aren’t you all excited about this? I am! Hehe!

ISkin Transformation Kit: Specially Formulated for Asian Skin

Is it true that beauty products formulated for Caucasians are not as effective when used by Asians?

This is perhaps one of the most arguable subjects in the beauty industry today, and for good reasons. As more and more cosmeceutical companies (both local and abroad) look at our country as a viable market for their products, it has become much easier for the rest of us, 21st century simpletons, to find ourselves trapped in the middle of a fierce marketing battlefield where messages with somewhat contradicting information are regularly thrown.

“Some international cosmeceutical companies tend to apply the same science and principles that gave them success in western countries here in our region,” says Dr. Evelyn San Luis, a Medical Aesthetic Professional at Flawless Face and Body Center (Flawless). “Although not entirely a bad thing, this practice could pose major disadvantages for both these companies and their consumers primarily because of the fact that our skin is structured differently, and therefore, have dissimilar needs.”

Citing not only the difference between the composition of Asian and Caucasian skin, but also the external factors that affect our biggest organ’s condition, Dr. San Luis says that maintaining the optimum health and natural beauty of oriental skin calls for more specialized and thorough regimens.

“There are several factors that greatly affect the health and appearance of our skin,” she explains. “Clearly, we have a lot more on our plates. Compared to Caucasians, we have more sebaceous glands, larger melanin cells and a thicker epidermis. We are also more prone to darkening and pigmentation due to the fact that our skin has more melanocytes (mature, melanin-forming cells). That’s why it’s really comforting to know that there are now companies like ISkin New York who are into formulating beauty products that cater to our specific needs.”

Well renowned and a favorite brand especially among celebrities, ISkin New York is a leading provider of premium skincare programs that deal with various skin issues through the process of cell renewal; that is to say, product lines that initiate a chain reaction of cell rebirth from deep into the skin. Even more impressive, they also offer products that contain specialized peptides—chains of amino acids that perform specific functions like anti-aging and skin lightening agents. These specialized peptides allow everyone to enjoy the brand’s benefits for longer periods of time and without subjecting themselves to harmful chemicals.

ISkin New York’s flagship program, the ISkin Transformation Kit, is designed with the Asian skin in mind. Its advanced formulation promises to increase the skin’s tolerance to environmental factors and diminish any visible sign of aging, including wrinkles, fine lines, pigmentations and rough skin. According to Dr. San Luis, the program is perfect for those who, due to their fast-paced lifestyle and constant exposure to free radicals, have skins that are aging faster than they should.

“Each individual product included in the ISkin Transformation Kit has been carefully blended and tested several times to ensure quality. They work deep into the skin to stimulate new cell growth, improve circulation and help rebuild collagen.”

ISkin’s Transformation Kit is composed of top-quality products that promise to bring out the best in your Asian skin. It includes: a mild plant-based deep cleanser that effectively removes dirt and other impurities without harming your skin; a balancing toner restores the skin’s pH balance—boosting its ability to absorb nutrients in preparation for the creams that will follow; a lightweight whitening moisturizer that targets pigmentations; a broad spectrum sunscreen that doesn’t leave a greasy feel on the skin; and two patented rejuvenating creams that effectively stimulate cell activity and collagen and elastin formation.

ISkin New York is a U.S.-based skincare laboratory whose range of premium products caters to the lifestyle needs of modern men and women. The brand is famed for integrating cellular and nutritional sciences into the development of its products’ formulations—helping everyone achieve visible transformation and producing healthy and radiant skin regardless of age and skin type. In the Philippines, ISkin New York is exclusively distributed by Flawless. Makeup tutorial: Party Look

As promised.. Here is another makeup tutorial. I think i would call this one the “party look”. I also did this makeup when i attended FSUU’s Fuzzion event. I just had to redo the whole look so i can do a makeup tutorial for you guys. =)

My last makeup tutorial was last year i think and i pretty much use the same stuff until now. =)

image

Get this look!

Start scrolling down.. =)

image

I’m using Mac 187 stippling brush to apply my foundation. Here I’m using Benefit’s Hello Flawless foundation in Ivory. To set my foundation i’m using Mac’s select sheer pressed powder in NC20.

About the foundation: I was never impressed, period. Or maybe the foundation wasn’t just for my skin type. I tried to give it a chance and used it again, twice! Still didn’t work for me. It didn’t have that much coverage as i wanted. I still go back to my Revlon Colorstay. =)

image

Apply blush!

Here i’m using Bobbi Brown in Pale Pink. Applied it using an angled blush brush from Mac in 168.

image

Apply eye primer.

I’m using Urban Decay’s Primer Potion. Let it set, then apply the base colour for the eyeshadow. Here i used Mac in shroom

image

I added more shimmer into my eyeshadow to make it look more dramatic. Using my finger, i applied Stila eyeshadow in Moonlight.

image

Add some colour into your pretty peepers!

I’m still using my Urban Decay Naked Palette just like my last makeup tutorial.

Using Mac’s 217 brush, my favorite brush by the way. Hehe! Take the colour Smog and apply all over the lid except for the brow bone area.

image

Using a crease brush, this one i got from a random store in Bangkok. The brand is Magique in M011. Apply the colour Darkhorse on the outer corners of your eye and on the inner half as well.

Blend it well!

image

Using the same brush. I apply a bit of the colour, Creep on the outer corner. Remember, just the outer corner. I do this to create a darker shadow effect on the corners of my eyes which will also create an illusion of having bigger eyes. =)

image

Next up, use a smudger brush. I’m usuing Smashbox’s 20 smudger brush. Take the colour, Smog and apply it on your lower lash line starting from the outer corner to the center of your lower lashline.

You can apply a darker shade if you want to. =)

image

Now for the eyeliner. My fave! Majolica Majorca’s liquid liner

A little trick i do to have perfectly drawn eyeliner:

Line… wing it… connect and fill it in. =D

image

Time to apply some mascara!

For this look, i used Dior’s Diorshow waterproof mascara for more thick-looking lashes.

And oh, don’t forget to curl them first. =)

image

Add more drama into your look and put on some lashes!

I like to cut my falsies into half. I think they’re much easier to apply when they’re cut into halves.

image

Using another angled brush, this one is from Charm Pro. I got them from Zalora.ph. Its just a simple angled brush i use to apply bronzer.

Excuse the icky Nars packaging. Don’t you just hate Nars’ product packaging. It tends to get all sticky and icky. Ugh! Haha! Let me know if this happens to your Nars packaging as well. =)

Anyway, for my bronzer, i use Nars bronzer in Sertao. Apply it on the lower half of your cheeks just halfway thru the hollows of your cheeks and up to your temples.

You can also apply some highlighters if you want to. =)

image

Last but not the least.. Lippies! =)

Here i used Miners lipstick in Icon (i think..). Topped it off with Nyx soft matte lip cream in Antwerp

And i’m done! =)

I really hope you guys love this look i’ve created!

Till my next tutorial!

xoxo,
Stephanie

I Love Lush!

So here i bought a few goodies from Lush. This post will be just a quick review on each product that i got. And i don’t expect everyone reading this to also get the same stuffs that i got since we all have different preferences when it comes to smell. Some of these may not smell pleasant for you so I really suggest you go to Lush if ever you wanna try out their products. =)

You Snap The Whip

This one is a body butter. And when i say its a body butter it really does have the consistency of a melting butter. Okay, i know it looks a bit disgusting but this soap leaves your skin incredibly soft and smooth. Another thing I really love about this is the powdered charcoal that exfoliates and scrubs your skin. I got this simply because i love its scent and i was a bit curious about the color too. But overall, i really like this soap.

American Dream Hair Conditioner

As you can see, i have used up a lot of this already and so far I am loving it but not that much since it doesn’t really leave that soft feeling on your hair and i don’t recommend using this everyday cuz it tends to dry up the hair. Though it is really creamy and it smells good too. It actually smells like vanilla milkshake.

What i do love about this conditioner is the fact that it really leaves your hair smelling super super good from day to night. Yep, it does!

Herbalism

This one is a facial cleanser and scrub. It also looks like a pesto sauce and pretty much smells like it. haha! But aside from the thought of having pesto sauce on your face, this one says that its a perfect cleanser/scrub for oily faces since it has anti-bacterial sage oil which clears up blemishes and decongests clogged pores.

So far, i think i like this. I love how it gently exfoliates your face and leaves it feeling soft without drying.

Mint Julips

What can i say? I love this lip scrub! The smell and the taste of minty chocolate sugar. Yes, you can actually just lick it off your lips right after scrubbing it and it gives you a minty fresh breath and soft lips. I like to use this right before i put on my lipstick.

Clockwise from left:

Sultana of soap
I love how this soap exfoliates and how it lathers up so well and how it also leaves your skin feeling soft and smelling sooo good. The only downside to this is that it doesn’t last long, it melts and its really messy since it has these chunks of dried currants and apricots which will surely clog your drain. Lol

The Godmother
Uhmm.. no reviews for this yet. Still haven’t tried it. Sorry! Hehe! But one thing i’ve noticed about this soap is that it has these tiny purple gitters in it and it really smells good too.

Miranda soap
In terms of smell, i don’t know about you guys but i think i like this one better than Sultana of Soap. And for me, i think this is very moisturizing. I don’t even have to put on lotion right after using this in the shower. This one also lasts longer compared to Sultana of Soap.

Sooo, i think that’s all for my Lush review… For now. Hope you enjoyed this! =)

xoxo,
Stephanie
